For flight instructors

Flight instructor student progress tracking, without the spreadsheets

Keep every student's hours, endorsements and written test prep in one place. FlightStride gives CFIs a clear view of each linked student's progress and the tools to guide them.

Track student pilot progress in one dashboard

  • Link your students and see them all from one CFI dashboard
  • Open any student's flight record with total, dual, solo, night and cross-country time
  • Review individual flight logs and the remarks behind them
  • Spot which category each student still needs before the practical test

Log flights and endorsements for your students

Endorsements stay your responsibility as the instructor. FlightStride helps you organize them, but always follow 14 CFR 61.31 and the FAA's endorsement guidance.

  • Add flight logs for lessons you instructed
  • Add endorsements, such as solo and cross-country endorsements, to the student's record
  • Keep a consistent, searchable history instead of hunting through paper logbooks

Assign custom FAA practice tests

  • Pick questions from the FAA written practice bank by subject
  • Write your own custom questions for topics you teach
  • Assign the test to one or more linked students
  • Students see the assigned test on their dashboard and take it in-app
  • Review each student's results to guide your next ground lesson

Frequently asked questions

How do I track my students' progress as a flight instructor?

Create a CFI account, link your students, and open each student's flight record. You can see their totals by category and review the logs and endorsements you have added.

Can I assign written test practice to my students?

Yes. CFIs can build custom practice tests from the FAA practice questions and their own questions, then assign them to linked students.

Do my students need their own accounts?

Yes. Each student keeps their own FlightStride account and logbook, and links to you as their instructor so you can follow their progress.
